New Jersey to receive $11.4 million in federal funds for statewide EHR

New Jersey will use the $11.4 million it will receive in federal funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to build an interoperable statewide EHR system.

Minn. legislators make changes to avoid HIE monopoly

Minnesota legislators sided with Duluth's Community Health Information Collaborative (CHIC) by making changes to how the statewide HIE was to be established. The Minnesota Dept. of Health had originally chosen the three major payers to build the statewide HIE.

New ONC deputy director to lead Beacon program

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT has chosen Craig Brammer, former project director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Aligning Forces for Quality, as deputy director. Brammer will lead the Beacon Community Program for ONC.

Norman, Okla., health systems share patient data

Norman Physician Hospital Organization and Norman Regional Health System have developed an EHR database to share patient data. The two hospitals are applying for a Beacon Grant to build a regional EHR database to connect local hospitals and physician offices.
