Report: Statewide EHR system can save West Virginia $1 billion

If West Virginia implements a statewide EHR system, it could save $1 billion, according to a report prepared by CCRC Actuaries for the West Virginia Health Care Authority and presented to state lawmakers.

Ga. HIE grant to give providers access to Medicaid patient records

The $3.2 million grant Georgia received from the federal government will fund its State Medicaid Health Information Technology Plan, which will ensure that Medicaid providers have access to an EMR and participate in health information exchange.

So. Fla. provider group partners with health IT firm for RHIO PHR

The Health Network of the Palm Beaches, a provider group in southern Fla., is partnering with PositiveID Corp. to incorporate the health IT vendor's personal health record into the facilities of participating members of the Southern Florida Health Information Organization.

Missouri to develop statewide electronic record system

California asks two organizations competing for HIE state designation to cooperate

The California Health and Human Services Agency, which is in charge of choosing the state-designated entity to oversee the dispersement of HIE and health IT federal funds, is telling the two competing organizations - CalRHIO and CAeHC - to submit a joint proposal by December 9.

VA looking to advance virtual lifetime electronic record initiative
