Schwarzenegger appoints head of statewide HIE efforts

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Jonah Frohlich as deputy secretary for health information technology for the California Health and Human Services Agency. In this role, he will oversee the development of a statewide electronic health data exchange, uniform interoperability standards and healthcare IT adoption.

Alaska HIE bill has widespread support

A bill that would create a statewide health information exchange system in Alaska will be voted on by the House.
